In this project, I led the discovery, vision, and design of the Tasks App within Scorpion's CRM Platform. I refined feature specifications, conducted research, crafted prototypes, and collaborated closely with product managers and engineers to ensure seamless design implementation. Furthermore, I assumed the role of design lead for new billing and CRM apps, contributing to the expansion of the Scorpion Platform's functionalities.
Overview
As a Senior Product Designer at Scorpion, a leader in digital marketing solutions, in one of many projects over 3 years, I took charge of shaping the Tasks App for the Scorpion CRM Platform. This project aimed seemingly simple at first – a task manager resembling a basic To-do list. But diving deeper through research with stakeholders and users, I uncovered a web of intricacies that demanded a more sophisticated approach.
Problem
My challenge lay in bridging the gap between the initial vision of a straightforward To-do list and the intricate realities revealed by engaging stakeholders and users. The task management process within the Scorpion CRM Platform held unexpected complexities that could have hindered collaboration, time management, and user experience. It became evident that a more strategic design was essential.
Solution
To tackle the complexities unearthed during research, I reimagined and delivered the Tasks App as a versatile solution that surpassed all expectations. This app has seamlessly integrated into the Scorpion CRM Platform, elevating efficiency and organization. By enabling smooth collaboration, effective time management, visualized progress tracking, and enhanced user navigation, the Tasks App has evolved into an indispensable tool. It doesn't just meet requirements – it enhances the potential for local American businesses to thrive within the Scorpion ecosystem.
Research
Prior to design, I conducted comprehensive research involving user interactions and stakeholder collaboration to identify pain points. Employing various techniques, I gathered valuable insights. Usability testing and mapping further validated and visualized the design, ensuring seamless integration of the Tasks App within the Scorpion CRM Platform, prioritizing user needs.
High Fidelity designs
After a few rounds of ideation, the interface I proposed focused on a sophisticated combination of color palette and design elements to provide an effortless experience for users who will spend many hours analyzing and entering values and making sure te interaction were intuitive and easy to use..
Adding a Task
I implemented an "Add a Task" modal that simplifies task creation in the Tasks App. With an intuitive options for priority, due dates, and categories, this feature streamlines the process while enhancing overall productivity within the Scorpion CRM Platform.
Sliding Panel
Introduced a sliding panel feature that optimizes screen space utilization and improves navigation by allowing users to access additional task details and options without leaving the main task view.
Optimizing Task Workflow: A blend of efficiency and simplicity
I curated a balanced feature mix for streamlined task management, enhanced time prioritization, visualized progress, and seamless collaboration. From creating sub-tasks for complex jobs to intuitive due dates, quick filters, and assignment options, the app optimizes productivity without compromising ease of use.
Sub-Tasks
Enhanced task management and organization by enabling users to create sub-tasks for breaking down complex tasks.
Due Date
Improved time management and task prioritization by implementing a due date functionality based on user feedback.
Task Status
Visualized progress and provided a comprehensive task overview by defining task statuses as completed, ongoing, or not started.
